Asia Cabinet Component Sourcing

Domestic and foreign sourced drawer parts have been a specialty of ours for 30 years.

Indonesia, Cambodia and Malaysia

We are working with factories in all three of these countries to develop the best products from each; finished cabinet doors, frames, drawer parts, and metal slides for the cabinet industry.

Vietnam

Vietnam’s capabilities have exploded in the last few years with many cabinet factories and drawer part factories. We are working with two very skilled companies for painted cabinet components and several factories for rubberwood, Birch and Poplar drawer parts.

Taiwan

Taiwan offers a great diversification opportunity in Asia for Birch, Poplar and Rubberwood drawer parts from one factory. We have been working with this company since 2001, they have great management and make an excellent product.

Thailand

Thailand is serving as a great diversification play in addition to other Asian countries. We have a new Thailand factory we have partnered with to produce rubber drawer sides. Currently they are producing 8 containers a month for us and the plan is to increase this to 12 containers/mo by the end of 2021.

Cabinet Doors, Drawer Fronts & Face Frames

We have developed a multi Asian country strategy buying cabinet doors, drawer fronts, face frames and drawer parts from Vietnam and Taiwan. We are now communicating with new mills being built in Cambodia, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Drawer Parts

Made in Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. UV roll coat finished and sprayed top edges. We would propose cut two types of programs.

The Rubberwood grows on plantations in Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia is indigenous to each country, is plentiful in supply, and therefore sustainable. While Rubberwood trees grow they extract latex from the tree to be used for rubber tires, gloves, etc… After approx. 21 years the tree no longer yields latex and they cut it down to then be used for cabinet and furniture parts and then replant new trees.

Dovetail tooling with Rubberwood is the same as is used with Birch because densities are similar.

Asia Poplar drawer parts made in Vietnam

The Poplar grows on plantations, is sustainable and the lumber is exported from Vietnam. In Vietnam we machine and UV roll coat/tint the Poplar a yellow/brown color so it appears like Birch. Poplar from Asia does not have the purples and greens like the USA Poplar. Instead it has some occasional brown streaks. You would need different dovetail tooling with Poplar because it is softer than Birch. We could help identify tooling manufactures if needed.
